Check-Up #43

Just as a quick addendum to my last post as I thought I would do an update about some other stuff. I've bought some new skirts recently just in time for the hot weather. A nice red maxi one which I'm currently wearing, a black pleated maxi and a knee length denim one with a nice pattern on the bottom. I also bought a nice green dress which is exactly the same as a red one I bought last year. Now I just need a chance to wear them. I was also called 'Miss' in the street recently which was slightly weird considering I was wearing my work suit. I can't deny it cheered me up a bit.

I also bought some new Star Trek cosplay recently - a blue TOS era dress to match my red one and a yellow SNW era one. Neither of which I've coveted much but one of the cosplay websites had a special offer on which I couldn't resist. Both fit wonderfully as well. I also see that Loungefly have bought out a new Tricorder inspired bag which I may have to purchase. As the new Supergirl has been released this weekend seeing lots of cosplayers online makes me which I had bought that costume last year after all although I still intend to.

To end with, a couple of links to some stuff I've been enjoying recently:

1. I don't need to tell you how great Evie Hyde is at this stage but I've really been enjoying her most recent stories featuring Lexi the Gen-Z Genie who is a wonderful character. There are three so far featuring Lexi's brand of twisted wishes helping us oldies 'understand' the younger generation: Gen-Z Genie

2. Many moons ago I used to be on DeviantArt and recently I've been looking back in on it. Now if you've been reading this for a while you'll know how much I like Quantum Leap and that it was a formative show for me that very much stoked my interest in gender swaps. One of the stock scenes in each episode was when Sam Beckett looked into a mirror to see the person he had leaped into well the artist Tharzog has created a number of these scenes which put Sam into numerous other bodies and characters from pop culture. I've really been enjoying their work recently so if this may interest you then please take a look: Tharzog's Gallery

Americanisation

 As it's Independence Day today, I thought I would put something up about a occasional caption preference of mine: Americanization.

Race or Nationality change is a lovely topic to explore and one of my favourites over the years has been Americanisation. As a Brit it's fun to be turned from the stuffy, reserved stereotype into an outgoing American draped in the Stars and Stripes with a southern fried accent and probably a spot on a cheerleading squad.

Although it's been done to me a lot over the years I've only used it a handful of times for others (and spoilers sweetie but I'm going to be using it again very soon although I'm not saying on who for now...). The first time I used it was for a 'Please Americanise Me' topic for the lovely Evie Hyde over on Rachel's Haven who now runs Evie's Emporium and that is the caption I would like to present for you now. This was among the first I did so it's still a bit rough around the edges especially the bright red text on top of the photo so I apologise for the look. Hopefully it's readable enough and that you like it anyway.

Ten Years of Terri

This week I celebrated my tenth anniversary on Rachel's Haven so I wrote the below post to sum up my feelings.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well everybody, today marks a whole decade since I joined the Haven and it's been such an amazing experience. Transformative in many ways.
I can't remember what drew me to the Haven initially but I do remember Leila Stoat posted some of her caps (with her own illustrations) on DeviantArt and it set me thinking. I was looking for a place to explore my kinks for CD, personality change and gender transformation and at the time I just used to do it in chat rooms. I had a few long, dark nights of the soul and did some things I'm not proud of but today I look back at it as something which set me on the path to where I am now. Initially I remember trying a sissy school forum but it never felt like a good fit. I heard a lot of good things about this site plus I had started reading some blogs that mentioned the site as well.
Initially I didn't know if I was going to post caps or not but I was interested in reading them. Not quite sure what happened but I guess inspiration struck and I decided to give it a shot. The first one I did was for the August 2010 caption contest and I think the first personal one I did was for Totalditz whose blog I was already avidly following. I guess it took off from there as I started doing it more and more.
It's been wonderful to write captions over all these years. Kinks are very personal things so when someone tells me that I hit all their buttons and maybe found a few new ones then I feel very proud of myself. Over the years I've also found out more about myself and moved into some areas I didn't think would excite me but I found a way to do it. Although a cap you do for someone obviously has to hit their buttons if it works for you as well then it gives you the impetus to make it better. Like telling a joke, you're the first one that should find it funny because if you don't then no-one else probably will. Even though I may berate myself for not doing more fiction writing over the years I remember my caps and feel that I've done a good job, essentially writing micro-stories and putting them out there. Lately I seem to favour dialogue-only caps but I really enjoy working in that medium especially when I'm writing an Ember Montoya cap. I could just write her dialogue for days as she's such a fun character. I hope I have made some people happy over the years and although I haven't done a lot over the last year or so I'm hoping to rectify that soon. I'm also pleased to have entered practically every monthly caption contest on here.
I'm so pleased to have made so many friends and capping partners over the years like Dementia, Totalditz, Licy, Jinny, Steffie, Evie, Crow, Jay, Chelsea and countless others and thanks also to Rachel for setting up this whole place.  I feel that this forum has also helped me to develop in real life and has give me more confidence to try crossdressing and live out some of my fantasies, broadly speaking, and although I've seen people move away once they have translated their feelings into real life, whether it's dressing or transitioning or just moving on with their lives, I don't think I've lost the want to make captions or the stories that come to me at the oddest of times in the strangest situations.
Thanks for a great decade, Haven
Terri Is Sick #8
We've looked at viruses in various forms but how about caregivers and the medical profession?
Naughty Nurse is another one on the crossdressing fantasy list although it's not one I've had particularly but given the chance why not? A sexy nurse costume with some white stockings and heels would be a lot of fun. Looking through my back catalougue and it seems I've done more nurse themed caps than I thought I had so I might add those to this little series.
The below caption was first created for Evie over on Rachel's Haven and uses her wonderful Role With It concept. This is one of my favourite caption concepts and as you all know I love playing around with roles and identities. The basic idea was based around a wooden box which contained cards with roles such as 'Homewrecker' and 'Party Girl'. The players would then grab some clothes to become that role and - suprise, suprise - they would morph into that 'role'.
Enjoy!
Puzzle Box
Now as per last week I have been trying to resist buying new clothes recently so of course this Saturday I ended up getting a new dress but it may in part be because I just wanted to conquer actually doing up the button in the back.
As regular readers may know, I have a fondness for vintage stuff, well perhaps clothes from around 1950s to 1980s really and a 1960s style Peter Pan collar is a favourite. Anything with that or the modern equivalent, a smaller, pointed collar (which I often call a Clara dress due to those being the sort that Doctor Who's Clara Oswald wore) I'm a sucker for. This dress in particular was sleeveless and covered in blue and white squares with a white Peter Pan collar. Not really one for sleeveless garments though as I don't like my big, hairy arms. The button at the back though was really tough to get done up and it just involved slipping a small loop over. In the end I gave up and changed back, convinced that I was spending too long in the changing room. I do have a slight fear of people coming into the changing room and catching me changing.
It's possible I bought it just so I could get it done up and feel a sense of satisfaction like I had just completed a puzzle. Why you would specifically need to see that small patch of skin at the back, I don't know. There always seems to be a hidden zip or small button somewhere you need to undo before you can actually get into the dress and even then it does have the feeling of almost being sewn into the thing - which can be quite nice at times. Part of what I love about wearing dresses is that they fit so well. I always seem to be pulling my trousers up despite what belt I have had throughout my life.
One more thing about this week, I was really pleased to discover that Evie Hyde is back writing TG stories (for the last year I see). If you enjoy tales of men and women becoming bitches and bimbos with lots of delicious slutiness and personality switches plus one of my favourite concepts - Role With It - then please check out Evie's Emporium.
Secretary
Back to work today... but now I can't help thinking what it would be like to be sexy secretary.
Dressed in a white blouse, perhaps buttoned up to the top or maybe with a pixie collar. Long black pencil skirt, black tights and black heels. Perhaps a bob cut or my brown hair all tied back in bun but just dribbling down the sides of my face. Bright red nails and lipstick to match. Answering the phone with poise, style and an ice cool voice. Clattering about the office in my heels, the model of professionalism and cool beauty. Nothing fazes me.
Or...the bubbly blonde. Curly blonde hair, dressed just in a black mini skirt, blouse with too many buttons open and maybe a pink jacket. Big sunglasses, big handbag, forever attached to my pink glittery phone, lots of make-up. A friend to all and the source of all gossip. A proper chatterbox who will say anything to anyone. I like hearing gossip and spreading it, perhaps I have a loud obnoxious laugh too. Long lunches, sneaky shopping trips, coming back in the office laid down with bags and trying to hide them under the desk. Leaving on the dot of half 5. Still damn good at my job and that's why anyone puts up with me.
Or...perhaps the teen office intern. Dressed in the latest fashions. Glad to get the experience yet thinking everything's beneath her. Trendy skirts, tight fitting clothes, going to lunch with mates. Lots to do but little pressure or responsibility.
One of my favourite captions ever is Trend Setter by Evie in which a teen intern picks the trend setter card from the Role With It box and makes a male co-worker dress like her. If you have Haven Gallery access the three parts can be found here: Trend Setter.
Hope you enjoyed my little set of fantasies as much as I did writing them.
Edit: Ooh my 100th blog post! Yay!
One Year On
Well, well, well it's been a year since I started this blog and the time seems to have gone by quite fast as it always does and in the right order, which is always nice.
I started this blog as an outlet for my fantasies and the hope that if I started writing about things of a cross dressing nature then it might somehow help me to figure out myself and who I truly am inside. Is the dressing really a part of me? Could I do without it? Is it simply a sexual kink or something much deeper? Is this skirt too short? Is this skirt short enough?
Sadly, I haven't got round to detailing a lot of my past experiences like I wanted to but the blog has branched off in other ways I never thought it would. Looking around for stuff to write to help me get into the groove first of all, I started writing about my Amy Pond cosplay which seemed to be quite popular or items of clothing I liked. This lead to the Fashionista pieces which are mainly my observations of fashions and style during my travels, mainly on my journey to work in London. In an effort to continue posting I've also been detailing some of my favourite TG stories in Pink Library and why they do for me what they do. Often I have other pieces of work on or my inherent laziness sets in, for which I apologise.
Recently, I've been thinking of doing a cap blog again but may go down the Tumblr route. I'm also considering doing a Clara Oswald cosplay if I can find a red dress from somewhere although recently I've been feeling really self conscious about it again. Also, after my blog on Evie a couple of months ago it's nice to hear that, although the blog and indeed the persona are not going to be returning, Evie the wonderful, gorgeous and terribly naughty individual is alive and well.
Thanks for reading everyone. I hope it's been enjoyable and that I 'm still here doing it in another year.
Evie
Some of you may have noticed but the TG Backburner has been taken down recently and Evie's profile has vanished. I've known her for about 3 years since I first joined Rachel's Haven and we have been frequent capping partners. I know she's had black moods before but usually she just stops capping for a bit. This seems too extreme so I hope she's OK.
We've capped each other so many times and I love her work. She has a vast back catalogue. Being two Brits we also traded Chav caps which was always fun and she also gave me my favourite caption to date : Wear Down.
Babe, if you want to talk I'm here. Hope to hear from you again soon and I hope you're doing well.
Role With It: Caption Trade
This is just a brief Rachel's Haven thing I'm trying to drum up some people for.
Evie, she of the wonderful TG Backburner, has invented the game of Role With It which really pushes my buttons. Stepping into another person's clothes and becoming like them has always been a fantasy of mine.
Anyway, I've set up a thread to do a mass caption trade using the game so hopefully people can take a look see and sign up if they fancy it.
The thread is here: Role With It Caption Trade
The original game is detailed here: Role With It Cards and Caps
